Troy Oaks Mission Statement:
Guided by the Holy Spirit, we commit to meaningful ministry by responding to the needs of the community and congregation.
Troy Oaks is one of 37 congregations in southern Michigan and Ontario that are
part of the Southern Great Lakes International Mission Center of the Community
of Christ. The Troy Oaks Congregation, located in Troy, Michigan, brings with it a unique past, a growing present and an exciting future. Troy Oaks came into being through the merging of two congregations, Royal Oak and Troy, in the late 1980's. After meeting together in the Troy High School band room for several years, the new Troy Oaks building was complete in the Spring of 1991.
Now, nearly 17 years after its inception, Troy Oaks has an average attendance of 100 each Sunday
and offers two worship services. The congregation presents two forms of worship, traditional at 9:15 am and contemporary at 11:30 am, each Sunday. Although there are two different worship services, the congregation as a whole meets together for Sunday school classes, fellowship and study on Wednesday nights.
Whether it's donating clothing to
the
emerging congregation in Redford, opening the building for the use of
several community support groups or working with other organizations
to distribute food to the needy during the holidays, the Troy Oaks
congregation is seeking to live out the church's mission statement to its fullest.
